“Noon and Souq to facilitate e-commerce in the Middle East“

In 2018, B2C e-commerce in the Middle East will reach US$58 billion. The region has become an emerging market for cross-border e-commerce giants, such as Amazon and eBay.

Noon is a full-service e-commerce platform. It was officially launched in September and December 2017 in the UAE and Saudi markets.

If Noon is the Alibaba of the Middle East, then Souq is the Middle East’s version of Amazon. Souq received US$275 million in investments in March 2016. Investors include Tiger Global, Tencent’s largest multinational media group shareholder, Naspers, IFC, and Baidu’s second largest shareholder.
